What was reported
According to TeslaNorth, the estimated delivery for a new U.S. Model Y L Launch Series order now reads January to March 2027 for every configuration, up from January to February. The outlet credits the change to a Sunday-morning post on X by Sawyer Merritt, who also said some customers are seeing February to April 2027 on orders they've already placed.
TeslaNorth says it checked Tesla's configurator for the default build, the Premium All-Wheel Drive Launch Series, and saw "Est. Delivery: Jan 2027 – Mar 2027" for Seattle, Los Angeles and New York ZIP codes. It also says it only checked that one build and hasn't seen the February to April dates on an order itself. Tesla hasn't given a reason.
TeslaNorth: Tesla Pushes Model Y L Launch Series Deliveries to March 2027 ↗What we saw from owners the same weekend
Our owner-reported window log doesn't move in one direction, and this weekend was no exception. Several holders posted later windows, including some pushed into February to April. Others posted the opposite: a North Carolina order moved up from January – February to November – December, and a Houston order went from a January estimate to a VIN and a scheduled delivery.
So read the new quote as the estimate for an order placed today, not a verdict on orders already in the queue. If you've ordered, your own app is the only number that counts, and it can change in either direction.
Methodology & honesty notes
This is a short news item. The new delivery estimate is TeslaNorth's report (Oct 18, 2026), which cites a post on X; we haven't confirmed it with Tesla, and Tesla hasn't commented.
The owner movements come from our Model Y L window log, built from owner posts and CyberTrack form reports. We describe them by place and order date only, and we don't turn them into counts or rates.
